With the strength of Australasia’s largest real estate brand behind him, new principal Kris Matthews is excited to be taking the reins at Ray White Toowong, located in the heart of one of Brisbane’s best blue chip riverfront suburbs.
Mr Matthews, who has been with Ray White his entire real estate career of eight years, is excited by the prospect of taking this career step into business ownership.
In a stylish transition, Mr Matthews has bought the sales business off his principal Graeme Sharp who is rebranding his rent-roll and moving in a different direction.
“It has always been a goal of mine to become a business owner within the first 10 years of my career, so you can imagine how proud I am to have achieved this in only eight years,” Mr Matthews said.
“I’ve always been extremely honoured to be part of the Ray White family so I’m looking forward to continuing those family values within my own team.”
Located just five kilometres west of Brisbane CBD, Toowong is the perfect blend of city convenience with a neighbourhood feel.
And with a strong focus on the surrounding suburbs Taringa, St Lucia and Auchenflower, the Ray White Toowong team remain committed to servicing these premium areas of Brisbane.
“With Toowong being in close proximity to the city, universities, hospitals and some of Brisbane’s best schools, it’s got something for everyone,” Mr Matthews said.
“While we’re seeing a lot of first home buyers coming through, especially those who were previously renting who have made the leap, we still have a strong demand for high end family homes.”
Ray White Queensland CEO Tony Warland congratulated the whole team at Ray White Toowong.
“We are extremely proud of Graeme Sharp who has been an owner and principal within Ray White for more than 20 years and a recipient of the coveted Max White prize which is awarded to someone who has made a significant contribution to our group,” Mr Warland said.
“Graeme has led his business and brought up a beautiful family. Now he delivers us the next generation of leadership in Kris Matthews – a fine and ambitious gentleman who has more than eight years experience within the Ray White network and most recently at Toowong.
“We look forward to supporting Kris and his ambitions for the future and wish Sharpie all the best in his future endeavours. He remains a good friend of our Ray White family.”
Ray White Toowong opens for business soon at their new office location at Unit 11 | 58 High Street in the heart of the shopping and dining precinct of Toowong.
Mr Matthews said one of his first goals was to increase brand recognition in his core area.
“I want our customers to know that our goal is to always achieve the best possible price for their property. We are an auction business and this remains our point of difference in the market. Our team and our great culture remains our biggest strength,” he said.
